Atlantic City Honors Small Business Owners After Awarding $900K in Micro Grants

3/14/2026

Picture
As we shared in our previous post, Chelly Finanacials, LLC. was a recipient of a microgrant award of $15,000 to help start up our new professional business services firm.

Thursday night, the City of Atlantic City celebrated the success of its recent Small Business Micro-Grant Program with a special reception honoring our local entrepreneurs!

I was happy to have my one guest be my father, who has been a great inspiration and support in my education, career, and business progress. You can see us below.

City leaders joined grant recipients and community partners to celebrate the entrepreneurs whose hard work and innovation continue to move Atlantic City forward.

Regroup and Press Forward

Resilience is a trait I pride myself on maintaining. It's a life necessity and business strength. Chelly Financials had a wonderful opening to the year, thanks to receiving a $15,000 grant at January's end for startup funding from the City of Atlantic City to help get us out of the idea stage and into practice. With that funding, we were able to purchase a vehicle to operate our mobile office, invest in our basic services to operate, purchase our starting equipment and supplies, partner for nonprofit service, and invest in our future security as a company through some savings.

CF had recent a recent setback in offering our notary service due to theft of a large majority of our equipment and supplies. Our police report is still being completed, we are working with the state to update our commission, and in the meantime, we're not able to offer any notarial acts.

Despite the setbacks, we have remained positive and focused on developing our plan of service offerings for the new year and we look forward to when we can begin serving our clients. At this time, we will be preparing to offer Virtual Vacation Planning Sessions and Virtual Business Consulting Sessions. We will add Virtual Notary services to the list when we are able again. Look out for the booking links to go live on our shopping page in the next few weeks.

Thanks for your patience and support and happy Spring Solstice in advance!

October 24th, 2025

10/24/2025

By Ruchelle “Chelly” Whitfield – Founder, Chelly Financials LLC

Today’s a special day — it’s my birthday! 🎈 But even more than that, it’s a day that reminds me how far faith, focus, and financial planning can take you. Every year teaches me something new about purpose and preparation, and this one feels like a turning point — personally and professionally.

I’ve spent the past few months building, designing, and preparing for something I’ve dreamed of for years: Chelly Financials on wheels. The mobile business doors are officially opening soon, bringing business and financial services directly to our community. From document assistance to budgeting sessions, Chelly Financials is here to meet people where they are — literally.

Starting in January 2026, clients will be able to book service appointments right through our website. Whether you’re a small business owner, a family trying to get organized, or someone ready to take control of your finances, I can’t wait to work with you one-on-one.

But that’s not all — I’m also excited to share that our first digital downloads are almost here! By November 30th, the Christian Money Mindset Devotional Journal and the Daily CW Planner & Night Journal will be available for purchase. These are designed to help you prepare, pray, and plan for 2026 with intention. You’ll be able to download them instantly, fill them digitally or print them out, and start shaping your goals for the year ahead.

Chelly Financials was built for people like me — and maybe people like you — who have big dreams but also everyday responsibilities. It’s for the go-getters who want to build stability and success without losing sight of their faith or their families.

As I celebrate another year of life today, I’m reminded that growth doesn’t happen all at once — it happens one step, one budget, one prayer at a time. 💫

So here’s to fresh starts, faithful planning, and the freedom to live fully and financially well.

Thank you for being part of this journey with me. Stay tuned for new services, digital tools, and the full Chelly Financials mobile launch in the months ahead!

With gratitude and excitement,
— Chelly 🌊💖

A New Chapter Ahead

9/13/2025

Picture
After three years of building Fitness Foodies, I’ve made the decision to close this chapter as the personal saleswoman. You can still get Fitness Foodies from healing house life center in from of the Atlantic City Post office Fridays from 12-5pm. It’s been a journey full of creativity, lessons, and community, and I’m grateful for everyone who showed support along the way.

Looking forward, my energy and focus are shifting to Chelly Financials.
Problem StatementMany residents and small businesses in Atlantic County lack affordable and convenient access to professional services such as document handling, notary, and financial coaching. Traditional providers often have high costs, limited availability, or bureaucratic barriers. This gap creates missed opportunities for small businesses, delays in personal transactions, and a lack of accessible financial literacy resources.

Additionally, individuals needing neutral, nonpartisan services such as notary and wedding officiant support often struggle to find reliable local providers. This unmet demand leaves residents underserved and limits community growth.
SolutionChellyFinancials bridges these gaps by offering:
- Immediate services: Copy, scan, print, fax, mail handling.
- Legal and civic support: Affordable notary services recognized for their neutrality.
- Personal celebrations: Licensed wedding officiant services for diverse couples.
- Financial foundation: Bookkeeping reviews and budgeting guidance for individuals and small businesses.

The model prioritizes convenience, affordability, and neutrality, ensuring profitability while creating community impact.

This next season is about helping individuals and small businesses take control of their money, plan with confidence, and build the future they envision. The first step is the release of the Chelly Financials 2026 Planner (Virtual Download Edition) coming this December.

I’ll be honest—So far I have been blessed, but grant funding and promotional partnerships are not always guaranteed. Because of that, I’m intentionally building a backup plan: developing digital products and services that can grow alongside my full-time work. This allows me to keep serving and creating value, no matter what doors open or close.

Thank you for walking with me through every transition. The best is still ahead, and I can’t wait to share it with you.

The Value of Human Job Creation in 2025 and Beyond

9/3/2025

In today’s rapidly evolving economy, the question of human job creation has become more urgent than ever. As technology advances and automation expands, communities are grappling with how to balance efficiency with the enduring need for human work. The year 2025 represents not just a new chapter in the global economy, but a defining moment in how we value people, purpose, and progress.
Technology and Humanity: Striking the BalanceArtificial intelligence and automation have brought new opportunities for efficiency and scale. Yet, they also challenge us to define what cannot—and should not—be replaced. Human creativity, empathy, and problem-solving remain at the heart of innovation and community building. The future of work is not about machines displacing humans, but about technology supporting people in roles that require compassion, vision, and adaptability.

The Economic Power of JobsJobs are the backbone of any local economy. Every new role created supports not just one individual, but a family, a household, and a community network. Small businesses, startups, and community-based ventures play an outsized role in stabilizing local economies. In cities like Atlantic City and beyond, prioritizing regeneration over gentrification ensures that economic growth benefits long-standing residents as much as new investors.

Work as Social ValueEmployment is about far more than a paycheck. It provides dignity, identity, and stability. Communities with strong employment opportunities see reduced crime, improved mental health outcomes, and stronger family units. Women, caregivers, and paraprofessionals represent critical drivers of this economy, particularly in industries like healthcare, education, and sustainability, where human connection is irreplaceable.

Pathways to the FutureThe jobs of the future are already emerging. Green jobs in aquaponics, renewable energy, and sustainable materials promise both growth and environmental stewardship. The care economy—from healthcare workers to home aides—will expand as populations age. Financial literacy and entrepreneurial coaching can multiply opportunities, empowering individuals to build and sustain businesses of their own. And hybrid roles that blend technology with human service—such as telehealth combined with community outreach—demonstrate the power of collaboration between innovation and humanity.

Building a Sustainable WorkforceTrue progress means investing in people as much as in technology. Job creation strategies must focus on equipping individuals with the tools to thrive: training, mentorship, financial coaching, and opportunities to enter industries of the future. A thriving workforce is the foundation of resilient families, strong communities, and sustainable economic growth.

✅ Closing Thought: As we move deeper into 2025, we must commit to valuing human work not as a cost to be minimized, but as an investment in our shared future. Job creation is more than an economic metric—it is the measure of a community’s resilience, dignity, and long-term success.
